Naomi Miguel, Ba’ag Nei’dam O’ks (Eagle Singing Woman), is a citizen of the Tohono O'odham Nation. She is founder and Chief Executive Officer at O’odham Consulting, L.L.C. Ms. Miguel served as a Presidential appointee as the former Executive Director for the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence and Economic Opportunity for Native Americans and Strengthening Tribal Colleges and Universities.
Ms. Miguel served as the Staff Director for the Subcommittee for Indigenous Peoples of the United States on the House Committee on Natural Resources and in the personal office for Representative Raúl M. Grijalva in the U.S. House of Representatives. She co-founded the Congressional Native American Staff Association, which hosted roundtable discussions about the importance of diversity and inclusion of Native American staffers in Congress. Ms. Miguel has campaign experience, has worked in the non-profit sector, and serves as a board member for Native American non-profit organizations.
Ms. Miguel is an alumnus of the Udall Foundation’s Native American Congressional Internship program, American University’s former Washington Internships for Native Students (WINS) program, Pre-Law Summer Institute (PLSI), Project Dreamcatcher, and the Native Leadership Institute. She received her Master's in Public Administration and Policy degree from American University in Washington, D.C, and her undergraduate degree in political science with minors in pre-law and art from Mount St. Mary’s University, an all-women’s college in Los Angeles, CA.
In 2024, Ms. Miguel was awarded an inaugural honorary Cobell Fellowship from the Cobell Scholarship Program for her advocacy in education. She received an outstanding alumnus ‘rising star’ award from Mount St. Mary’s University’s Alumni Association and is a 2021 recipient of the Native American 40 under 40 awards. She was featured in American University’s magazine and USA Today’s Native American Heritage Month magazine for her work in education. She is a proud rez kid from the Chui-Chu village on the Tohono O’odham Nation in Arizona. She is very passionate about Indigenous women’s rights and uplifting Native students. She enjoys hiking, art, music, spending time with her family & friends.
